Bullets fly at Panda Garden
Bullets flew Saturday morning at Panda Garden, a Chinese restaurant on Emmet Street, and one man reports that he was shot in the leg, according to a story in this morning’s Daily Progress. The story suggests that this isn’t the first time Panda Garden, located beside the Econo Lodge and that newish UVA pedestrian bridge, has been the site of a party gone awry. The story also tells the tale of another man who, shortly after the Panda Garden party broke up, reported getting shot in a finger in the 1100 block of Gordon Avenue. Investigations, including determining whether the incidents are related, continue. At one point in 2001, UVA’s board had briefly considered acquiring that aging restaurant building to facilitate the bridge construction, but decided not to. #
